What Ipamorelin is

Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide ghrelin mimetic that binds GHS-R1a on the pituitary and triggers a GH pulse. It is discussed in the secretagogue literature as more selective than earlier GHRPs: the papers emphasise GH release without a matching rise in cortisol or prolactin, which is why it became the default partner for GHRH analogues in combination studies.

Its half-life is short — on the order of two hours — so study designs that use it are pulse designs, not depot designs. That is the opposite of DAC CJC-1295, and the reason the two families get confused when a shop only prints “CJC/Ipam” on a vial cap.

As a GHRP, Ipamorelin acts on a different receptor from CJC-1295. Stacking a GHRH analogue with a GHRP is the textbook way to get a supra-additive GH pulse in animal and in-vitro work: one ligand raises baseline drive, the other fires the pulse.
